Linux
is an operating system, created spontaneously,
as a hobby, by a student named Linus Torvalds
in Helsinki, Finland. Linus was interested in
Minix UNIX system and he decided to form a system
that will exceed Minix standards. He begun in
year 1991 and shaped the version 0.02. Diligently
he was supplementing what he has already done
and in 1994 he completed the version 1.0. In January
2001 he developed an improved version 2.4. The
development is still proceeding.
Linux system is working under the GNU General
Public License. This way the original system code
is freely accessible to anyone.
Today, Linux is the operational system that represents
a revolution in the world of computers!
Therefore,
we invite you politely to contribute as a sponsor
to the realisation of the 1st INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
KIBLIX 2002, dedicated to Informational Technologies
and operational system Linux. Festival will be
held on November 7 till 9 at Multimedia Centre
Kibla and Narodni dom Maribor.
Kiblix invites and calls students of technical
(above all computer) sciences, experts in the
field of computer sciences, mobile telephony and
internet as well as all the others new technology
and informational enthusiasts. Characteristic
for the festival is informing and education. Programme
consists of several lectures, presentations, round
tables, practical workshops and symposiums.
The
festival will last three days. Just as well the
festival consists of three thematic areas; First
day of the festival will be dedicated to the mobile
telephony (Bluetooth technology, safety of operating
through mobile phones, SMS application on the
way to MMS, 3G telephony, entertaining contents
in mobile telephony, influence of radiation of
mobile phones to human health). Second day will
be concentrated on Internet and safety of Linux
systems (safety of data transmissions, safety
of servers, safety of monetary operations,...)
And finally, the third day will be entirely dedicated
to operating system Linux and its software.
Festival
Kiblix will be accompanied with integrative graphical
image and variety of media through which it will
represent itself to Slovene and international
public. We will also provide a media support of
the festival because the events of this kind offer
a beautiful business opportunity for active partners
of the festival.
We

Concept,
integral visual image, media support and clearly
defined target groups are all attributes that
makes possible the effective appearance of sponsors
and donators of the festival in the local and
foreign media.
Expected
target age group at the festival will be aged
between 16 and 50 (70%); students of computer
sciences, and other technical sciences, computer
experts, Internet experts and other new technology
enthusiasts.
Our estimation is to reach around 30.000 or 40.000
individuals with communicative activities. At
the festival we expect 5.000 to 6.000 visitors,
mainly local.
Our
intention is also effective informing of printed
and electronic media in compliance with media
plan (1. media notification, the invitation to
press conference, press conference, media report
- on the first day, second day and final media
report on the last day of the festival). Post
- productive activities also include analysis
of the media.
